The use of technology for the development of subjects can represent a challenge for teachers; and in times of pandemic, this situation is further increased. The purpose of this descriptive study was to determine the technological educational bases that the teachers of the School of Sciences and Humanities of Universidad Católica de El Salvador have for the development of their subjects in virtual mode; in addition to describing the most used technological tools and identifying the most common difficulties in the use of technology. To collect the information, interview and observation techniques were applied.
It was found that the level of technology application by professors ranges from intermediate to advanced. Regarding the use of tools and resources, most use them optimally in Moodle virtual classrooms. On the other hand, the difficulties that were experienced were connectivity problems, due to the residence areas of both students and teachers; and the technical problems that usually arise in the development of the classes.
It was possible to verify that, after the implementation of educational technology in the transition from face-to-face to virtual teaching, it is convenient for undergraduate professors to know and apply information and communication technologies, since they favor self-learning and the elaboration of products. with visual components that encourage the didactic creativity of the teacher for the benefit of student learning.
