Abstract

Agricultural spaces offer opportunities to use local culture and traditions to boost tourism. The objective of this article is to describe the richness of the agricultural farm and its reconfiguration as a proposal for agroecological tourism offer in the Ezequiel Zamora Genetic Improvement Center, located in the municipality and state of Barinas in northern Venezuela, using the qualitative descriptive approach and field design, supported by the method and facets of participant action research, through a documentary review of the different models of tourism systems and descriptive analysis; The instruments for recording information were observation and in-depth interviews; Characterization tables of tourist resources were used as analysis tools. The farm is considered a functional systemic model, which provides various approaches and theories from the tourism dimension, which contributes to a transformation with an agroecological tourism vision. Although the farm is visited mainly by university students who carry out their research, due to its richness and potential reconfiguration, it becomes an alternative for the transition towards agroecological tourism.
