Abstract

A study was conducted in the Rancho Agropecológico en Especies Menores, ‘EBENEZER' or Rancho EBENEZER, it's to 4 Km south of the Niquinohomo town. In the Masaya Department. With an altitude of 384 m.a.l.s., with latitude north of 11° 52'25.18'' and longitude west of 86° 05'14.89''. The average of annual precipitation is of 1,200 mm, with rainy periods generally in the months of Julio to November. With a minimum temperature of 22°C and maximum of 38°C, varying these during the whole year. The soils are of texture loamy franc and an effective depth of 40 cm. The main objective was to contributing to the use and handling of nacedero (Trichanthera gigantea), as alternatives for the animal feeding. Was used a plantation of three year-old of nacedero, which had a space distribution of 1 m between furrow and 1 m among plant. The morfoestructurales characteristic of nacedero (thickness, height, number of stems and sprouts), was evaluated, in shade on three scenarios (4 hrs of sun or dimness, 8 hrs of sun or shadow and to full sun) and four cuts frequencies (30, 60, 90 and 120 days) and their effect on the production of biomass and content of protein. When beginning the study a cut of uniformity it was made. Five plants were token for each condition, which were selected at random, for the measuring of the morfoestructurales characteristics, and biomass productions. It was found that the best results in the nacedero morfoestructura are presented under shadow conditions or 8 hrs of sun, followed by the dimness or 4 hrs of sun, likewise that the production of biomass was better when the cuts were carried out every 120 days, being these adults when they were in shade conditions and dimness (31 and 32 t ha-1 respectively). On the other hand the protein contents were bigger when the cuts intervals were smaller than 60 days, which fluctuated between 20 and 23%. Being an inverse relationship between the court age and production of biomass with regard to the protein content. We conclude that the nacedero requires of shade for its good behavior morfoestructural and productive.
