The study was conducted in the plan nursery of the Facultad de Recursos Naturales y del ambiente of the Universidad Nacional Agraria in Managua, Nicaragua. Genizaro seeds (Phitecellobium saman (Jacq) Benth) and black Guanacaste (Enterolobium cyclocarpum (Jacq) Griseb,) were used to quantify the percentage, energy and value of germination when applying pre - germinative treatments. Treatments consist of immersion of the seeds in water at boiling point, followed by 24 hours of rest in water at environmental temperature prior to planting, and cut at the end of the seed coat in the area of micropyle. To study the seed germination, 400 seed per species were used divided into four blocks of 100 seeds which were planted in polyethylene seedbeds trays with 100 cavities each. The study was established during 20 days, with daily applications of irrigation in the early hours of the morning. The pre germination treatment that worked best was breaking the seed coat at the extreme of the micropyle, with a percentage of above 90% and higher value and energy of germination.
