Design and implementation of a system for storage and visualization of radiological images

This article describes the operation of a system that stores radiological images in the Shalom Clinic, designed by a team of researchers from the Faculty of Engineering as an innovation project that allows the visualization and portability of images on different mobile devices for rapid analysis. In addition, minimize the times in the attention, the presentation of diagnosis and medical treatment of the patients. With the development of this project, the Shalom Clinic should not incur expenses when managing the purchase of supplies for developing the printing of radiological plates, nor would it have to handle chemical materials that damage the environment. An exploratory research study was carried out, a type of incremental innovation that adds improvements to an existing product. (Rodríguez, et al., 2013). In the methodology for formulating the proposed solution, the related entities (computer technician and clinic doctors) who would be in charge of the process of production and analysis of radiological plates were interviewed. Two types of variables were determined: independent and dependent; the independent variable-cause was carried out as a PACS1 Servers Implementation process; the dependent variables-effects, such as image storage on a server owned by the Shalom clinic. The second variable was the decrease in the time factor for the visualization and generation of a clinical diagnosis.
