Technological modernization in the management of general hospitals. Phase 1 diagnosis on technological modernization in National Hospital Zacamil

The objective of this study was to diagnose the level of computer equipment in the hospital that allows the emergence of new innovation projects in the research, technical, scientific or administrative areas. The methodology for this research was focused on exploring different indicators that make it possible to determine findings on the technological needs that different hospital institutions currently have, a case study of the Hospital Nacional General «Dr. Juan José Fernández », Zacamil. As a result, a series of needs were obtained, such as the updating of computer equipment as well as technological tools that help to improve multiple processes that are developed in the execution of the service to patients, in which with the help of the research team and the use of new technologies in a second phase will design innovative solutions that cause a positive impact on its internal functioning, benefitting quality patient care. With the development of this diagnosis, it is concluded that there is the opportunity to design and develop a series of projects that innovate the internal processes from their internal functioning that translate into optimal patient care within the hospital, in terms of the Evangelical University of El Salvador allows you to strengthen the research area in the Faculties of Engineering and Medicine. Through this diagnosis, it enables the production of innovative ideas and designs based and applied in the use of new technologies, which can optimize processes and information flows in the hospital.
