Abstract

Intimate partner violence against women is one of the most important problems, since it causes serious consequences and influences the development of society at different levels. The objective of the research was to describe the reality of the violence of
partner exercised against women in the context of the Salvadoran evangelical church. The theoretical-methodological approach was mixed (quantitative-qualitative), phenomenological; the study was cross-sectional, descriptive, non-experimental, primary source of information.
Partner violence against women is due to sexist cultural patterns; affecting women of different ages and socioeconomic, educational and geographic contexts. The most frequent types of violence were: psychological, economic,
physical and patrimonial; the least frequent, sexual violence and, lastly, femicide violence. Although the evangelical church carries out actions in the areas of prevention, care and accompaniment; It is necessary to strengthen the area of ​​prevention and
implementation of articulated, interdisciplinary and interinstitutional actions to counteract this problem. The perceptions of the evangelical church regarding violence against women were that it violates biblical principles and against the dignity of women; the pastoral agents are convinced of assuming the responsibility to address this problem as a church.
