Compliance and effectiveness of environmental laws in protected natural areas of el Balsamar

The Protected Natural Areas (ANP) El Balsamar in the municipalities of Cuisnahuat and San Julián, Los Farallones Complex in the municipalities of Caluco, San Julián and Plan de Amayo in the municipality of Caluco, in Sonsonate, El Salvador, suffer daily impacts
environmental issues related to the advance of the agricultural frontier, indiscriminate logging and burning, wildlife extraction and water pollution, among others. This environmental problem raises: Are the applicable environmental laws in the ANP of El Balsamar, Los Farallones Complex and Plan de Amayo complied with and effective? The main objective was to analyze the compliance and effectiveness of environmental laws in the ANP El Balsamar, Plan de Amayo and Los Farallones Complex. The study is limited to the exploration and description of the application and effectiveness of environmental laws in the face of problems, arising within the ANP, having as geographical delimitation a total of 618.40 ha, distributed from the following natural protected areas: El Balsamar 48.90 ha, in the municipalities of Cuisnahuat and San Julián, Los Farallones complex 397.81 ha, in the municipality of Caluco and San Juliá and Plan de Amayo 171.59 ha, in the municipality of Caluco with their respective city halls. The investigation is oriented to carry out an in-depth analysis of the compliance and effectiveness of the Environmental Laws applicable to the ANP.
