When large projects in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or other sciences are executed, they typically begin with the development of the respective construction plans, which determine the main characteristics of the project. Similarly, IT projects start with planning and the creation of the minimum required documentation, as well as necessary diagrams (equivalent to construction plans) to provide a clear vision of the final project characteristics. This innovation project aims to propose a technical protocol that allows for the establishment of parameters, technical specifications, minimum required technical documentation, and metrics (values to evaluate) through which IT management and department heads can practically and measurably establish the quality of the code and construction used in IT projects. The research begins with a diagnostic survey to determine the current situation regarding the application of different programming and system development standards. Based on the survey results, the proposal for a code quality protocol was developed, outlining the minimum requirements, as well as the use of open-source software to evaluate the lines of code produced to verify their correct construction.
