To have information updated, accompanied of a graphical appropriate expression, it allows to know and to analyze the complex and dynamic reality of any space; indispensable knowledge to make concrete different projects of territorial classification. For this motive, for the economic and social development of the country there is needed cartographic, property and geographical information of precision.
The Atlas are a set of thematic integrated letters that allow, to the different users, to know and to understand the space and his complexity, carrying away to waking the interest of the users up in different activities. In this communication there are emphasized the methodological aspects of the project of investigation Geographical Atlas and Satelital of the Province of La Pampa, Argentina. He presents the advances of the first months of work and since it is tried to continue by the production of the cartography.
This investigation tries to give response to the need to have reliable, updated information and easy access for different users. For this motive one tries to manage the geographical knowledge and satelital of this Province designing and constructing an interactive and permanent tool that it allows to analyze, to make clear and to interpret the reality socioterritorial of the Province and his inequalities, from the employment of static cartography and of a display screen of geospatial data, sustained in a Spatial Information System.
Nowadays, for the need to make maps that could be updated easily, and that in addition are precise and clear, there is almost indispensable the adoption of means that answer to these requirements and allow the development of operations that, otherwise they turn out to be long and onerous. In this case, the digital cartography and other technologies of the information, they possess a great number of functions and facilities for the production of maps, incorporated in the computer aided design, the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and the Remote Sensing, between others.
