As an induction to field of aeronautical science at upper level in Honduras, this study was made with the goal of incorporating this area of knowledge to the academic offer provided by the UNAH to their students. The methodology was the collection of different experiences of the author in the Honduran aeronautical environment from which it was determined, the need of knowledge that it’s have in this science, as well as the type of material or type of content should be developed for optimum aeronautical education subject-matter, specifically in the basic operation of an aircraft. Moreover, the issues addressed other Universities for initiation in teaching aeronautics and thereby make a bench-marking adapting them to our national environment were investigated.
The result of this exercise is a contrast between failures or knowledge gaps that may be have by staff already plays in the field, and academic offer that already provide foreign Universities with experience in aeronautical training. This leads us to lead in to define specific subject to be included in the teaching of a first course of introduction to aeronautics for future college students, based on national needs and international experience in the aviation education.
