Abstract

The night skies of urban areas become brighter due to light pollution. The effects of artificial lighting are not distributed evenly across the sky. Our purpose was to determine the areas of the night sky OACS presenting best conditions for astronomical observations considered as one aspect of the Night Sky Brightness. The measurements were made by SQM-L (Sky Quality Meter With Lens) meter which measures the brightness of the sky in magnitudes per square arcsecond, tripod equipped with inclinometer and allowed conveyor guide the SQM-L in altitude and azimuth respectively The readings were made from the same place except one that was out of town to confront results sky background brightness between the OACS and an area that has little light pollution, both sites were georeferenced with GPS. The areas of the sky having a higher darkness are between 60 ° and 90 ° in azimuth and altitude ranging from 320 ° to 15 ° recording ranges of 17 mag / arsec2 to 18.80 mag / arsec2.
