Abstract

For the present investigation, the most relevant data of the 18 publications made of the Space Sciences Magazine until its fall edition of 2017 were collected. Among the results obtained the following stand out: 1) Relevant statistics: all the editions published until 2017 sum up a total of 177 articles published in 3,593 pages; each article has an extension of between 17 and 22 pages and is the product of their respective research reports, when the author is a Professor of UNAH. The Space Sciences Journal (hereafter, RCCEE) meets more than 70% of the requirements established to be part of the CAMJOL Index and is part of the Catalog of index. Until 2017, the participation of external authors is estimated at 65%; 2) Place of the Spatial Science Magazine (RCCEE) among the publications of the UNAH: FACES has maintained its continuous publication when instead they do not have a journal of the Faculties of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Dentistry and Engineering despite being older and having more teachers. The journal explains requirements of publication of form and substance, among which the compliance in the body of the article with the parts of Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusions, the inclusion of the review of external peers, maintaining the coherence of the results with the research objectives. In general, the present research concludes that the publication of the RCCEE is an academic instance in which most of the FACES professors incorporate scientific research as part of their academic assignment; In addition, each issue during the ten years of existence of the RCCEE has had a mixed Editorial Board (FACES professors and external researchers); It is recommended that the balance between the external visibility of the articles and the strengthening of local research must be maintained at all times and is concluded by indicating that the sustainability of the RCCEE publication still presents some challenges.
