Abstract

Nowadays, there are a lot of technological tools that could be integrated with the teaching profession; but, many teachers are not conscious of them, or they use them without actually knowing the intentionality that they fulfill in the teaching processes. For that reason, this article is a reflection exercise about the explorer level and the descriptors of progress that relates the technological competence from the model “TIC Competence for the Professional Development as a Teacher” purposed by the MEN of Colombia (2013). These reflections arise from the results of the diagnosis applied to the teachers of a private school in Colombia, with the objective of determining the level of development on that competence, finding that they do not reach the progress of the descriptors of the exploratory moment. Finally, a proposal for a training plan for the integration of technological competence is designed, according to the explorer level and their respective descriptors, which allows teachers to recognize a wide spectrum of technological tools and some ways to integrate them into educational practice, contributing to the professional qualification.
