Abstract

The constant development of ICT has brought as a consequence that the real contexts of time and space to be moved to virtual contexts which are in permanent –either synchronous or asynchronous-connectivity and interactivity. The teacher’s and student´s roles have adopted new dimensions and the educational-communicational processes have acquired new characteristics due to the new environment and ways of interaction provided by TIC. This essay poses the need to distinguish between the use of virtual contexts for educational purposes and the education required to become a responsible and creative user of virtual environments.
