Abstract

The objective is to describe financial inclusion and the standard of living -based on social deprivation- that make use of formal financial services, as well as to identify the possible relationship between both variables. Quantitative, cross-sectional-non-experimental and correlational research. A specific questionnaire was developed and applied to a sample of 100 inhabitants of the city of Salinas, SLP., financially included. None of the financial inclusion indicators reach acceptable levels; both access and use, and user protection present an intermediate level, while financial education is not satisfactory either. Regarding the quality of life, access to housing, followed by access to basic services in housing, present low levels. The quality of life and financial inclusion correlation in a direct way, of 0.310 (p <0.05). The canonical correlation shows that a model that associates both variables presents an acceptable fit.
