Abstract

The objective of the research is to determine the level of concentration of destination markets for Peruvian exports from 2005 to 2019. The theoretical perspective is documentary analysis and database review, considering the calculation and analysis of six concentration and inequality indexes as the main axis. The design is non-experimental, ex post factual or longitudinal of trends. It is concluded that the concentration index [CR (k)] of the 4 main markets, classifies it as moderately high, the 8 main ones, in a moderately low concentration level and the 20, concentrate more than 90% of exports. The Herfindahl-Hirschman index shows a non-concentrated level between 2006 to 20016 and a moderately concentrated level from 2017 to 2019. The Theil entropy index shows a moderately concentrated level. The integral concentration index shows a low level of concentration from 2006 to 2016 and a moderately high level from 2017 to 2019. The Hall and Tideman index show that exports by country of destination are asymmetric. Finally, the Gini coefficient shows a very strong to absolute level of inequality, therefore, a lower degree of competition and higher concentration.
