Diagnosis of the entrepreneurship ecosystem: state and components of the Regional University Center of the Atlantic Coast, Honduras

Abstract

For the diagnosis of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Atlantic Coast region, theoretical foundations were analyzed from different positions to understand the creation, development and functioning of business operational dynamism, I have implemented the following steps for the diagnosis: 1) Analysis of the matrix of actors of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, identifying the sector, the institution, the link and the role they play within it. 2) We proceeded to develop a mapping of the actors that make up the entrepreneurial ecosystem, identifying the different actors and geographic coverage. 3) Analysis of the area through the matrix of the interrelationships between the components of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. 4) Measurement of the entrepreneurial ecosystem through the Babson College model (Isenberg, 2010), in order to identify the strengths (which needs improvement) and the weaknesses, in order to counteract them until they become development axes that manage to multiply the positive business aspects in the short, medium and long term. In the results, 7 positive responses and 18 negative responses were obtained, which indicates the degree of maturity of the ecosystem, detecting business operational deficiency.
