Abstract

In this paper we propose a model to simulate the wealth distribution in a society, making analogies between economic agents with statistical mechanics model of ideal gas where each particle is an agent or economic entity, and its energy is the amount of wealth. The system’s energy is always conserved. Simulations were made with several types of rules for exchanging energy, and then we compare these results to those observed in real societies, using Lorenz curves and Gini index of known countries like Honduras and Costa Rica.
