Abstract

This research presents a broad overview of the sources of data and information for the demographic study of international migration from Honduras, both in the country of origin, transit countries and destination countries, allowing researchers to illustrate the phenomenon, to know, explore, meet their potential, limitations, access and usability to improve scientific knowledge of this important demographic variable. Honduras international migration, especially emigration has gained notoriety in the last twenty years, mainly by the turnaround, increased volumes and destinations, the characteristics of the actors involved, especially migrants, and contextual factors that influence possible explanations about the migration process.

Yet although international migration was shown in Honduran society, some more efforts to allow a better scientific knowledge of the subject and of all factors, associations, relationships, effects that have led to thousands of Hondurans to get involved are necessary it as life strategy.
