Abstract

This exploratory analysis, presents an overall view of the many benefits in terms of costs that the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tools in articulation with the Project Management Institute (PMI) practices, trigger along different organizational environments.

Throughout this analysis, it is imperative to mention, that a rigorous compilation of theoretical and empirical literature is reviewed, with the purpose of creating a culture and continence among the academic and corporate individuals (project stakeholders) who are on the pursuit of higher performance results and lower operation costs. On the other hand, it is imperative to mention that after covering the theoretical inputs and evaluate various cases of application of preventive and corrective maintenance, throughout the Latin American business environment, it is important to note that the preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, have a great potential to reduce the operation costs as much as the Scope of Creep Consequences.
