The next project involves the validation and estimation of the uncertainty of an analytical method to determine Total Iron by the Phenantroline method in natural water samples, at the Natural Water Laboratory CIRA - UNAN. This in order for the laboratory to demonstrate that the analytical method provides reliable results, following the methodology established by the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. 22 ed. Washington: APHA. Within this context, the project was made possible by the financial support of UNAN-Managua’s Own Research Funds (IPFs). The evaluation of the method was carried out taking into account criteria such as: linearity, working range, limit of detection and quantification of instrumental and method, accuracy (veracity, repeatability), intermediate accuracy, and as a criterion outside of validation, but of the utmost importance, the estimation of bias or uncertainty of the method, all by developing statistical calculations with the aim of having the natural water laboratory with a validated methodology , as a necessary element for the accreditation of these natural water quality variables.
