Elements of educational quality from the perspective of students in Biology, environmental science orientation

The study “ Elements of educational quality from the perspective of students in Biology, environmental science orientation”, was intended to know the opinion of students of the seventh and eighth semester about some aspects of the educational quality of the career they are studying, to improve the training process of future students, strengthening the aspects that are most valued by them. Individual questionnaires and group interviews were conducted, the analysis of the content of the answers allowed the generation of three units of meaning: Curriculum; Teaching skills; Administration, and Institutional Management. The results show, as positive aspects of educational quality: the time that the teachers dedicate to approach the contents, the discipline and pedagogical domain of them, the institutional valorization of the career, and the work of tutoring. It is concluded that, for the student, the main indicators of educational quality are, in order of importance: the formation of their teachers, the didactic update, and the interaction between teacher and student, especially in the interest that the first one shows in the formation of the students. It is important to consider the need to analyze the process with greater complexity.
