The objective of this research was to analyze the intervention programs of the UNAE aimed at promoting environmental awareness in the community of Chuquipata, Ecuador. The study was developed under a non-experimental design, and mixed study approach. The method used was descriptive research, field modality, and documentary analysis, which allowed us to analyze the actions undertaken by the National University of Education (UNAE) about the promotion of environmental awareness. Surveys were applied to the 110 members, and it was possible to know their perception of the impact that the implementation of the Environmental Awareness program has had. The results demonstrate how efficient the activities carried out in higher education have been and complementary actions are suggested for the promotion of environmental awareness among the community living around the university institution, promoting the long-term participation of public and private entities.
