This paper applies the transportation method using the linear programming simplex in the company under study, to obtain optimal shipment plans minimizing the total costs of the star product, GU type cement for general construction. The Operations Research methodology is followed, that is, once the problem is defined, the objective function and the restrictions of the mathematical model are established, then the model is processed using the Solver - Excel software and the optimal solution is obtained. In addition, it is proved that, eventually, if the values of the restrictions are modified, the objective function of minimization is affected, thus favoring the decision making in favor of obtaining economic benefits for the companies.
