The objective of this article is to propose a professional training strategy for environmental education in the professional teaching-learning process of the subject Political Economy I in the first year of the Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Holguin. The dialectical materialist method was used for the study of the professional training process in the determination of the theoretical and empirical methods. The result of the diagnosis showed insufficiencies in the use of the educational potentialities of the contents of the subject Political Economy I to achieve an approach to environmental education in the professional training process that involves students in the analysis of complex environmental problems. The proposal of the professional training strategy for environmental education through the cultural-historical approach in a perspective of production relations in the society-nature relationship, contributed to personal growth, to the formation of the professional modes of action of the first-year student of the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance, in the elevation of their environmental culture for the sustainable development of the environment.
