The professional training of the civil engineer from the investigative work practice

Abstract

Cuban Universities are immersed in the training of integral professional, for which reason they are working on the improvement of the curricula. To achieve the training of the future civil engineer, the integration of the labor, research and academic components needed within the professional training process, for which the insertion of the investigative labor practice constitutes an important component. Today, Cuban higher education, from the same integration approach and under the called Study Plans E, which, unlike previous curricula, provides for the insertion of labor practices as an organizational form of the teaching-learning process. The objective of this article is to carry out an analysis of the historical evolution experienced in the professional training process of the Civil Engineering career at the university of Holguin by the different study plans from the investigative labor practice. The methodology used was document review, which allowed characterizing the object and field of research from an epistemological, historical and empirical dimension. The curricula are characterized, falling in the Study Plan E of the referred institution, where the subjects related to the investigative labor are analyzed. It is concluded that the process of professional formation is strengthened by inserting the investigative labor practice in the Study Plan E of the Civil Engineering career of the University of Holguin, which propitiates in the students an adequate control of the ways acting through their participation in the solution of problems present in the professional or social scenario in which they are inserted.
