Abstract

The work performance of nursing personnel is the fundamental pillar in public and private health units in the country, which is why it is important to evaluate the performance of the resources through tracer axes that provide regulations and protocols established by the Ministry of Health. The objective of this article is to present the results of the evaluation of the work performance of nursing personnel according to Regulation 137, at the Nilda Patricio Velazco Primary Hospital. A quantitative approach study was carried out. The universe and sample consisted of 50 resources that make up the nursing personnel selected by convenience. According to the results presented: the nursing resources of the Nilda Patricio Velazco Primary Hospital adequately comply with the nursing standards according to Regulation 137; the nursing resources carry out continuous dissemination and promotion of the responsabilities and rights of the patient, the areas or services have standardized nursing care plans according to the different health needs of the patient. Likewise, the staff is continuously trained in care protocols, humane treatment, and principles of asepsis and antisepsis. The main infection prevention strategy is hand hygiene and they comply with continuous education to the patient, family and community through field work in the sector that corresponds to each nursing resource (house to house visit).
