This document review article aims to explore the potential of telemedicine in the field of occupational health in Latin America and pioneering countries in this field. To this end, information from recent research on the use of this technology in occupational health was compiled and synthesized in order to identify the areas where it is being implemented and to highlight its strengths. The review was carried out through platforms such as Ebsco, Proquest, Jstor, Mendeley and Google Scholar, using MESH terms in Spanish, such as “salud ocupacional” and “telemedicina”. Of a total of 578 studies identified, only 17 met the inclusion criteria related to occupational health, while 561 were excluded. The main results indicate that the expansion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has facilitated the implementation of telemedicine services, expanding the coverage of services offered by occupational health companies. This has not only reduced operating costs, but has also increased the competitiveness of the companies. In addition, workers have shown high levels of satisfaction and acceptance of this technology, which has promoted preventive medicine, occupational risk management, occupational health and safety education, and the monitoring of occupational pathologies.
