The didactic value of the press news in the learning process of the Social Sciences

The main objective of this research is to determine the didactic value of the press news in the learning processes of the Social Sciences in Secondary Education. This is a documentary study, the information was collected from numerous sources and experts in educational subjects, which allowed to build an objective and critical conception about the didactic potential of the press news, which are appropriate for educational interventions of innovative purpose in Secondary Education in social sciences. Some of the following questions are discussed and answered in the present article: Can we understand the social reality through press releases? Is the press news favorable to think critically about our reality? Can we think over the socio-economic, political and cultural situation through the press news?, all this is stated with the intention of generating in the teachers the concern and need to innovate their teaching performs.
