Situation of the hotel sector and its contribution to economic growth in the municipality of Estelí, in the second half of 2019

This inquiry determines the current situation of the hotel sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the municipality of Estelí; the problem that has had a negative impact on the hotel sector is the socio-political crisis that took place in Nicaragua in 2018 and that affected the demand for this service due to the uncertainty of its consumers. To exit, the hotel sector will be characterized, the factors of incidence will be described and the elements that contribute to economic growth will be proposed, strategies that will improve the situation of the sector. Among the main results are that the hotel sector is characterized by low load capacity and few permanent collaborators which does not allow the effective execution of hotel tasks, among the burning factors affect the situation of the sector is unemployment of the Esteli population, as well as uncertainty towards the security of the country. The elements of the hotel sector that contribute the most to economic growth are the generation of employment, the training of its employees and the promotion of private investment. The strategies that need to be taken into account to improve the situation are to retain their customers through a database of recurring customers, to achieve a better adaptation to the changes that arise, and to make hotels apolitical business.
