Abstract

Hospital occupational risks are within the same classification as occupational risks as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) these can be classified into physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, and psychosocial risks, capable of producing accidents and occupational diseases at the hospital level. It should be noted that ,the risks are present according to the task performed, in such a way that they can be considered dangerous for health personnel. The objective of this documentary review is to identify the risks to which workers are exposed, determining the capacity of institutions in the management of occupational risks in hospitals to protect health personnel. An analytical, qualitative, and descriptive review was carried out, applying the PRISMA method to carry out this review. EBSCO, Scielo, Google Scholar, PudMed, Cochrane, Mendeley was also used as a bibliographic manager, Boolean operators and keywords were used as meta search engines. The main results in this documentary review show that fifty percent of the articles analyzed proposed strategies to mitigate occupational risks, highlighting the role played by hospital management in their management. In addition, the responsibility of both the administration, who must assume a role in the implementation of safety measures, and health personnel, who must comply with protection measures to prevent occupational diseases and accidents, is emphasized.
