This paper presents a systematized approach to education using the new competencybased model. The History Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Legal Sciences of the UNAN-Managua has been taken as a reference, with the objective of being able to organize and describe the educational work in the context of the classrooms. The paper also aims to present the results of student learning using this new model, which has been implemented since 2021. Based on the aforementioned premises, this study organizes the results acquired from Integrator I and Integrator III, which correspond to the fi rst and second year of the History course, respectively. Our results show that the retention rate of the students was remarkable in both cases, as evidenced by the grading records, the records of the evaluation meetings, as well as the individual and group follow ups that were conducted. The academic performance of the students also remained within a reasonable range. The follow-up and support enabled students to attain both quantitative and qualitative results, leading to the development of a comprehensive education.
