Ph.D por la Katholieke Universiteit te Nijmegen, Holanda. Antropólogo social y cultural. Autor y coautor de importantes estudios sobre pueblos indígenas y garífunas, y de cultura y desarrollo local. Catedrático universitario. En la actualidad es director del Museo Universitario de Antropología de la Utec.
