Abstract

Last April 5, 2023, anthropologist Ramón Rivas, along with professor and painter Joel Herrera, both from Ilobasco, and myself, Mario Ramos, made a trip to Sensuntepeque, department of Cabañas, for the following purposes: 1. To visit the historical Providence Church (Iglesia de Providencia) (1907) in Cantón Nombre de Dios; then, 2.- to also admire the historical Church of the village of El Palomar (1943) in Cantón Paratao, and, 3.- to hold Holy Thursday celebrations in the new chapel in the central village of Cantón Paratao, located on the banks of the Lempa River.
