This paper presents a novel method for determining the geometrical parameters of a five-bar planar mechanism used for in-plane positioning tasks. The method employs photogrammetry techniques, which require a camera calibration process based on the vertex space concept. A methodology for the characterization of the measurement system is also included in this work. The applicability and advantages of the proposed methodology are demonstrated through the estimation of the geometric dimensions of a five-bar mechanism.
