Abstract

Three different kinds released rice by CENTA were evaluated during the study; and one creole variety was used as witness to compare the results. The research objective was to determine the variety that was better adapted to the soil conditions and the weather of the Experimental Field at the West University located in Canton Anchico in San Miguel city. The test was carried out from July to November in the year 2012, in a land area of 28.5 m x 36.5 m. Aspects of growth, development, performance, resistance to illnesses and economical profitability were also evaluated.

It was used the Experimental Design of randomized block method with four treatments; in addition to five replicas for each treatment, making a total of 20 experimental units. Each plot or experimental unit had an area of 4.0 m x 6.0. The types of rice in the study were: a. Silver (creole), b. CENTA A-8, c. CENTA A-9 and d. CENTA-10. For the analysis of the differences, it was used the Analysis of the Variance (ANOVA) in Excel (2010), with the separation of the DUNCAN medium in a level of significance of ≤ 0.05.

It was determined that the CENTA A-8 variety has a higher productive performance, followed by the CENTA A-9 AND A-10 varieties, which presented a same performance to this one. The creole variety presented a less productive performance.
