One third of the 38.6 million people infected with the human immuno- deficiency virus are also infected with the tuberculosis bacillus, being up to 50 times more likely to suffer from tuberculosis, compared to those who are not infected. The delay in this diagnosis in patients with HIV is an important cause of higher mortality. Objective. Identify the epidemiological, clinical and laboratory analysis characteristics of HIV positive patients managed in the Comprehensive Care Service of the Mario Rivas Hospital, diagnosed with tuberculosis in 2018 and 2019. Patients and methods. Retrospective study included adult population of the Comprehensive Care Service of the Mario Rivas Hospital, total population is 2,077, of which 54 people coinfected with HIV / TB between 2018 and 2019, the sample size was 40 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The service's tuberculosis database was reviewed, followed by the files, taking into account data 6 months prior to the tuberculosis diagnosis, until its confirmation. Results. More than 82.5% (33) had not received prophylaxis, 37.5% (25) had a history of ART abandonment, 82.5% (33) diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, of these 54.6% (22) had LT CD4 <200 cells / dl. Initial symptoms were weight loss 32.5% (13), cough 15% (6); At diagnosis 92.5% (37) had weight loss, 87.5% (35) fever, 85% (34) cough. Conclusions. Most of the patients had not received chemo-prophylaxis, and a quarter had dropped out of antiretroviral therapy. Cohort presented the same symptoms as those referenced in the international literature.
