Abstract

The title chosen for this volume, “Between Tissues and Smiles: A Scientific Perspective,” evokes the delicate intersection between the biological and the human. Oral tissues—gums, bone, mucosa, and periodontal ligaments—represent the microscopic dimension, where science operates with rigor and precision. But smiles represent the emotional dimension: they reflect identity, well-being, and self-esteem. This issue seeks to honor that duality, reminding us that behind every diagnosis, every graft, restoration, or treatment, it is not only anatomical structures that are reconstructed, but also our patients’ confidence and personal history.
