Abstract

The Graduate Degrees of Medicine began in 1975 with Gynecology-Obstetrics and Pediatrics, in the city of Tegucigalpa. In 1978 the specialties of Surgery and Internal Medicine were added and in March of the same year the recognition of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) was obtained through Agreement 10 of Act 320 of the University Council.  Finally in 1984 , the medical postgraduate programs were directed and coordinated by the National Autonomous University of Honduras, through the "Direction of the Postgraduate Studies Division", which coordinates other graduate programs of the Alma Mater.
