Abstract

The Editorial Board of the Scientific Journal of the University School of Health Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley (EUCS / UNAH-VS) committed to society, is pleased to present this issue focused on the epidemic of the Zika. Universities play an important role in all fields within the knowledge society and in the era of globalization, therefore "The World Declaration on Higher Education in the XXI Century: Vision and Action" included several concepts in relation to relevance, which reflects the complexity of contemporary higher education and in one of them says that higher education should reinforce its functions of service to society, and more specifically its activities to eradicate poverty, intolerance, violence , illiteracy, hunger, the deterioration of the environment and diseases.
