Now day Hypertension is a health problem, due to its high prevalence, transcendence and impact on health, quality of life and survival of every human being. Before this event, the pregnant woman, parturient, mother and her child, are subjects of high vulnerability. In Honduras, the main causes of maternal mortality are: hemorrhage (45%); followed by hypertensive disorders (18%) and infections (12%). The following case report presents the nursing care process and the implement interventions based on the principles established by the Dorothea Orem and Virginia Henderson. Theory the nurse teach, to the pregnant woman with preeclampsia performs her own care during her hospitalization. A 29 years old pregnant woman with 33.1 weeks (PW) participated in this study while hospitalized in the maternity ward of the Mario Catarino Rivas (MCRH) was she diagnosis of pree- clampsia and collaborated with the necessary information to perform the appropriate interventions. Among the most significant results, it was found that the woman who suffers from hypertensive conditions during pregnancy experiences episodes of depression that lead her to stay in a state of anxiety because of her childs health and does everything to have a full term pregnancy.Nursing care is a fundamental part of the recovery and maintenance of preclampsia patients health since it is the nursing professional who performs the role of caregiver and agent of change in the different stages of prenatal care.
