DENTIGEROUS CYST IN PRIMARY DENTITION. A CASE REPORT

Abstract

The Dentigerous (QD) or follicular cyst is the second most common type of odontogenic cyst. The exact histogenesis was suggested that the origin is the accumulation of fluid between the reduced epithelium of the enamel organ and the underlying crown. They are always radiolucent and more commonly unilocular, although large lesions may present a multilocular pattern. The objective of this clinical case is to present the clinical characteristics and the management of a patient diagnosed with a dentigerous cyst. An 11 year old female patient; originally form the city of El Progreso, Yoro, who visited the Hondupalma Hospital with an increase volume on the left side of the lower jaw. The clinical examination showed cortical expansion of the vestibular table at the level of the second left lower deciduous molar. With three months of injury evolution pain and fever the lesion. The radiographic examination reveals radiolucent image surrounding the crown of the fist lower left temporal molar (7.5 according to FDI). Surgical removal was done and sent to histopa- thological study, with a definitive diagnosis: dentigerous cyst. The post operative was unremarkable infectious or bleeding; to 7 days withdrew suturing and was taken radiograph post surgical without anomalies.
