SEXUALITY IN THE ADULT WOMAN MAJOR HEALTH CENTER MIGUEL PAZ BARAHONA. I SEMESTER, 2018

The society relates sexuality to youth, promoting negative stereotypes of sexuality in the elderly, being a taboo that does not allow the development and sexual satisfaction in this age. Objective: Explore the development of the sexual life of the older adult woman who attends the Miguel Paz Barahona Health Center in the first semester of 2018. Patients and Methods: Mixed, exploratory, study, ethnographic design, prospective. Non-probabilistic sample, 50 participants. Instrument observa- tion and questionnaire of open questions, technique: interview. The quantitative data were processed in the SPSS software and the qualitative ones manually. Results: 76% (38) were 65 years old and more, 52% (26) married, 46% (23) they lived with their part- ner, 64% (32) incomplete primary, 86% (43) receive less than the minimumwage, 88% suffer from some type of illness and consume medication, 60% (30) indicated not to be sexually active. 52% (26) they say that sexual activity is bad for health. 78% (39) without sexual desire. The qualitative data were ordered in the following categories. Category 1: sexual experience: agreed that "at this age I no longer feel sexual desire", "I have relationships only by commitment", "I enjoy more than before". Category 2: Enjoy your sexuality: agree that "I do not enjoy, because I am not active" "I enjoy to the fullest" the majority said that if they had sex was only for commitment to their spouse. Conclusion: Society and anatomical, physiological and psychological changes condition mostly the perception of sexuality during older adulthood, causing a decrease in sexual activity and satisfaction.
