The histologically supernumerary breast has an organized ductal system that communicates with the skin that covers it and responds to hormonal stimuli of the menstrual cycle. It has been described in 2 to 6% of women. In most cases this developmental anomaly does not present cutaneous elements (rudiment of nipple and areola).
