KNOWLEDGE AND PARTICIPATION OF THE UNIVERSITY MAN IN PREVENTION OF PREGNANCY

The use of contraceptive methods constitutes a public, sociocultural and economic health problem whose origin is poor information and little participation of man because of the limited supply of contraceptive methods for them and the taboo in society on the subject. Objective: Describe the knowledge and participation of men in the use of contraceptive methods to prevent pregnancy in engineering careers at the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley (UNAH / VS) in the I semester of 2018. Patients and methods: Quantitative study, non experimental, transversal, descriptive. Questionnaire type instrument. Population: 3,328 students, stratified probabilistic sample 296, thus integrated electrical engineering 97; mechanical engineering 51; civil engineering 71; Industrial engineering 77. Results: 76% had knowledge about contraceptive methods 24% did not, 65% used a contraceptive method and 35% preferred that women use them.
