Abstract

The purpose of this work is to identify the different conceptions of love proposed by theorists of all times, concerning two unequal but complementary disciplines, psychoanalysis and philosophy. The paper researches the hypotheses of Freud and Lacan, succinctly in Plato in his work “The Banquet.” Likewise, contemporary theorists such as Žižek were analyzed. The article provides an approach based on a wide range of positions, the most widespread statements and also the most studied with respect to the human issue that has generated the most controversies: love. Finally, despite attempts to reach a more or less appropriate definition to define love ties, find a kind of norm, or the attempt to generalize, the contributions of philosophers and psychoanalysts, leave us with an advantageous panorama and the readings of the works grant us new elements, to address preliminary uncertain aspects of a very complex subject.
