Abstract

The “estimation of utility”, posed by Franz Hinkelammert, is a problem to the ethics of common good. The author makes a positive valuation of the consequentialist approach of this proposal and also points to the virtues of certain versions of utilitarianism and to the problems of expressions like “utility” and “well-being for everybody”. It also uses inkelammert’s ideas in order to recognize the limits of factibility, which would make possible an original and constructive critic to the ruling utilitarianists and consequentalists current
