Abstract

Hispanic American thought has nourished itself from a creative appropriation of ideas from other latitudes. The case of Liberalism on 19th century is paradigmatic. Latin American Liberalism had very singular features that differentiate it from European Liberalism, not only in philosophical terms, but also turned it in a very influencing paradigm in the Latin American institutional life.
