Abstract

The article explores the development of rural industrialization process in Nicaragua. It is argued that a systemic approach and chain approach for the analysis is required but it is suggested that the approach of national innovation systems as a valuable comprehensive approach to policy formulation for systemic innovation in Nicaragua. The agricultural sector in developing countries are experiencing production and supply chains with pressure and review of regulatory systems. There is a demand for food and appreciation of agriculture is driving the emergence of new buyers in rural areas competing for different products, not to mention the growth of new markets for biofuels, environmental service payments for reducing emissions greenhouse gases and preserving biodiversity. This new round is generating new economic threats and pressures on natural resources and economic agents seek new forms of exploitation. Nicaragua is unable to continue competing on the basis of comparative advantages centered abundant natural resources. This strategy exhausted resources and production factors
